The public page gives people enough context to decide, while private details unlock only when the plan is real.

Gated locations protect everyone
Exact event addresses stay locked until you join instantly or the host approves your request. Public previews only ever show the city and the approximate vibe — never the address.
This works both ways: guests are not walking into a place strangers can look up, and hosts control exactly who knows where the event is. Never pressure anyone to reveal an address early, and do not share one outside the event.

Join requests are a safety layer, not a hurdle
When a host reviews join requests, they see your profile and context before letting you in — and you see theirs before asking. Treat the request flow as a mutual check: if a host with no history, no photo, and no attendees makes you hesitate, trust that instinct.

Keep coordination inside the app
The event chat exists so plans, arrival details and questions stay in one place — with a record attached to the event. Keep coordination there instead of moving to private channels with people you have not met yet.
Never share sensitive personal information like your home address, financial details, or documents in any chat. No real event needs them.

Block, report, and what happens next
You can report users, events, and messages directly from their profile or event context, and block any account instantly. Blocking takes effect immediately; reports go to moderation review, where repeated or serious violations lead to content removal, feature limits, suspension, or permanent account removal.
Open the conversation options to report or block the user. You can also report an individual message from its message actions.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first, then report the situation in the app.

Minors and child safety
Verty is not intended for children. Our child safety standards, reporting expectations, and dedicated contact for child safety concerns are published on the Child Safety Standards page. For child safety concerns, contact support@vertyapp.com.
08 · Protection
Device location for discovery is optional
Device location for discovery is separate from an event’s address. Sharing your device location is optional and it is collected only while the app is open and location-based discovery is enabled. Turning off location-based discovery in the app settings stops collection and deletes the stored discovery location. If you have set a home city, discovery may continue using that city.
Before you go
Make the plan safer before it starts.
A few simple choices can make meeting new people feel more controlled and easier to leave when needed.
If anything feels off, leave.prefer events in public or semi-public places for a first meeting
tell a friend where you are going and when you expect to be back
arrange your own transport there and back, so you can leave whenever you want
arrive and stay aware — if the event does not match its description, you can simply leave
