Who we are
Verty is a social event and discovery app that helps people create, discover, join and coordinate real-world events. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have.
If you have privacy questions, requests, or concerns, contact us at support@vertyapp.com.
Information you provide to us
When you register or complete your profile, we collect account and profile information such as your email address, username, first name, last name, date of birth, country of origin, optional phone number, profile photo, about-me text, interests, and optional Instagram username.
When you use Verty features, we collect the content and information you submit, including event listings you create, event descriptions, cover images, join requests, invites, profile updates, reports, support emails, and event chat messages.
Location information
Verty uses location information to support map-based discovery, event creation, broad event context, and related social features. This may include approximate or precise location depending on your device permissions and how you use the app.
Exact event location is treated as gated product data. Public web previews show only broad context such as city and country, while precise event address or coordinates are intended to unlock only after a user joins or is approved in the authenticated app flow.
Notifications and device identifiers
If you enable push notifications, we collect and store your device messaging token, such as an FCM token, so we can deliver invites, join-request updates, chat notifications, and similar app activity alerts.
We may also process basic device, app-version, language, and settings context needed to secure sessions, troubleshoot issues, and deliver the service correctly.
How we use information
We use personal information to create and secure accounts, verify email ownership, let people build profiles, show relevant events, support map and discovery features, process join and invite flows, enable event chat, power public share previews, and operate account settings.
We also use information to enforce our rules, detect spam or abuse, review safety reports, support moderation decisions, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and improve product reliability and user experience.
Safety, moderation, and community protection
Verty includes safety reporting, account blocking, and moderation workflows. If you submit a report about a user, profile, message, or event, we process the report details, the involved account or event identifiers, optional supporting text, and related moderation metadata so we can review the issue and take action.
Uploaded profile and event images undergo automated content moderation. This processing may use a third-party cloud provider for content moderation, acting as our processor on our behalf.
We may retain moderation records, safety signals, and related logs where reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce our terms, protect users, resolve disputes, or comply with legal requirements.
Public profiles and public event previews
Verty supports public sharing of limited profile and event preview pages. Public profile previews may include public-facing items such as username, profile image, country of origin, Instagram username, short bio, interests, and hosted or attended event counts. Public event previews may include title, cover image, description, timing, category, broad location, host username or avatar, and similar preview-safe metadata.
Public previews are intentionally limited. They should not expose email, phone number, date of birth, private settings, private attendee lists, internal IDs, blocked-user data, reports, event chat content, or exact gated event location.
How we share information
We may share information with service providers and infrastructure vendors that help us operate Verty, such as hosting, storage, email delivery, authentication, notifications, and technical support providers, but only as reasonably necessary to provide the service.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights or safety, to investigate abuse or fraud, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or similar business transaction.
Analytics, diagnostics, and crash data
Verty may collect limited diagnostics, operational logs, and product telemetry to understand app performance, investigate failures, and improve stability, security, and usability.
Where analytics or crash tooling is enabled, the collected information may include coarse usage events, app version, device context, timestamps, and error details. We do not use this data to sell personal information.
Data retention and account deletion
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate Verty, maintain safety and moderation records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
You can request account deletion from the Settings flow in the mobile app. After a deletion request, Verty starts a 30-day restore window. During that grace period, your account is scheduled for deletion and can be restored through the supported restore flow. After the 30-day period, the account is permanently anonymized or deleted in line with our backend lifecycle.
Some data is removed immediately when deletion is requested, such as device messaging tokens, certain notifications, blocks, friendships, and pending social requests. Some information may be preserved during the grace period so a restored user can regain settings, interests, chat history, and prior event context. After final purge, profile data such as name, email, bio, Instagram username, date of birth, country, public share ID, and profile picture are wiped or anonymized. Certain records, such as past safety reports or chat history references, may remain in an anonymized or de-identified form where needed for integrity and safety.
To see more about account deletion, visit the Verty account deletion page.
Your choices and rights
You can access and update profile information inside the app, manage notification permissions in the app or device settings, and control whether you continue using location-enabled features by adjusting device permissions.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or objection regarding certain personal data. To make a request, contact support@vertyapp.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
